App HealthGIS

HealthGIS is a mobile application based on Google Maps researched and developed by the Center for Community Health Research and Development (CCRD) within the framework of the "USAID Enhanced Community HIV Links- Northern" project. Its main purpose is to provide customers with quick, convenient and customized access to HIV/AIDS counseling, testing, care and treatment services.

HealthGIS has two versions for users and for administrators. For individual users with health care needs related to HIV/AIDS, HealthGIS helps to connect users and community service providers and health facilities. HealthGIS features fully support users to naviagate and make informed choices about healthcare services available.Specifically, the user can locate and view the most essential information of medical facilities such as services provided, address, working hours, health insurance information, etc. They can also makedirect phone calls and obtain directions to their desired facility.

In addition, users can also make phone calls or appointments with community service providers directly through the application if they need further advice before makinga decision as well as supports throughout the process of using health services and follow-up. Besides, users can send feedbacks and evaluation of the quality of services to improve the application.

In the administrators’ version, the application supports each community service providers to manage their client records and track their out-reach results. It also helps program managers manage clients as well as monitor the performance of community service providers.
