Capacity building

In order to improve capacity for the staff and to access modern analysis and research methodologies, the Center for Community Health Research and Development (CCRD) offered the workshop “"Advanced Research Methods in Evaluating Communication and Public Health Programs in 2009”. This is facilitated by Dr. Larry Kincaid, Scientific Associate and Senior Advisor of the Research and Evaluation Department, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communication Programs (CCP). The Center for Community Health Research and Development (CCRD) provided technical assistance to 10 project provinces (Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Long An, Can Tho, Binh Duong, Dong Thap) within the framework of the project "Prevention HIV/AIDS among Youth” in the General Official for Population Family Planning, Ministry of Health funded under Asian Development Bank (ADB), 2009”. CCRD rendered support in five components of the project:
Within the framework of the construction project documents “Strengthening Leadership and Multi-sectoral coordination in the HIV/AIDS prevention and control in Vietnam” (2006-2007) under the Party’s Commission for Science and Education, the Center for Community Health Research Development (CCRD) assisted in the construction, design and implementation of research analysis on the actual situation of organizational leadership and coordination among organizations working on HIV / AIDS prevention and control in Vietnam, of CCRD made a recommendation to create a complete project document.

CCRD’s mission is to contribute to the improvement and equity of health care and social advancement for the Vietnamese people through a systematic and sustainable approach that combines sound knowledge, cultural sensitivity and capacity building.
