Social Maketing Program for Oral Contraceptives

 

 

 

Within the framework of the project "Support for means of contraception in Population and Family Planning program" by the General Population, Family Planning-Ministry of Health, the Center for Community Health Research and Development (CCRD) is implementing a program supporting the social marketing of Microgynon oral contraceptives funded by UNFPA. This is an oral contraceptive produced by the leading pharmaceutical corporation Schering of Germany.
The overall objective of the program is to help building sustainability and quality of the Population and Family planning programs in Vietnam through developing the sales  of a contraceptive pill to avoid pregnancy, and building capacity to implement social marketing programs in Vietnam.
 
To carry out this project CCRD will conduct a quick assessment to learn about preferences, tastes and needs of target groups in the project regions  to inform the design, packaging and advertising of the product.

During the project implementation, CCRD will organize media campaigns  on Microgynon through mass media including newspapers, radio, television in central and provinces,  internet and particularly in  pharmacies to promote products to all audiences and increase the knowledge of women, couples and staff in Population and Family planning centres about Microgynon.

CCRD will cooperate with the pharmaceutical distribution company DHS to organize a distribution system through nearly 25,000 pharmacies in 63 cities across the whole country.
