CCRD and USAID visit to Dien Bien

A delegation from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Center for Community Health Research and Development (CCRD) made an official visit to Dien Bien province from March 10 to 12, 2015. The delegation includes Mr. John Michael Eyres, Director of the Office of Health, USAID Vietnam, Mrs. Jeri Lee Ann Dible, Deputy Director of the Office of Health, USAID Vietnam and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong, Director of CCRD and CCRD key staff.

The main purpose of the visit is to conduct site monitoring of USAID-funded programs and to gather information for operational planning of USAID Vietnam. At provincial level, the delegation successfully met with leaders of the Provincial Department of Health and the Provincial AIDS Center about prioritized health issues in Dien Bien. A discussion about USAID’s priorities and supports for Vietnam in 2015 was also held with the participation of representatives from the Provincial Department of Health, District Health Centers, and CBOs. Findings and information collected during the visit have served as inputs for the USAID Office of Health to develop the country operational plan in Vietnam in 2015.
