The end-of-project review conference of “USAID Enhanced Community HIV Link - Northern” project in Nghe An in 2018

Regarding the “Enhanced Community HIV Link – Northern” project and the “HIV/AIDS Strategic Information System Strengthening” project that was funded by USAID, on August, 27th, 2018, the CCRD collaborated with the Nghe An Provincial HIV/AIDS Center (PAC) to organize a project review and transference conference in order to share results and lessons learnt in the process of project implementation. Additionally, the CCRD and Nghe An province made plans to liaise in the near future about HIV prevention activities.

The conference was chaired by leaders of the Nghe An Provincial People’s Committee, Nghe An Department of Health, Representatives of Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control - Ministry of Health, and particularly Mr Jeremiah Carew – Deputy Director of  U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

 At the conference, the leader of the Nghe An Provincial HIV/AIDS Center presented results and contributions made throughout the implementation of the two HIV/AIDS prevention projects ịn the province. The leaders of the District Health Center, Commune Health Station, HIV staff and community service providers shared experiences and challenges in the project implementation process and positive results that the project has brought to the community. For the transference plan after finishing the project, provincial leaders emphasized the importance of HIV prevention, subsequently committing to organizing information sessions with the integration of HIV knowledge as a means of increasing coverage. Leaders of the District Health Center, Commune Health Stations, HIV staff and community service providers pledged to try to maintain and continue to further develop community outreach after the project ends.  

Mr. Jeremiah Carew and the Representatives of Vietnam Administration of HIV/AIDS Control highly appreciated results that the project achieved and recorded comments from participants.
