Charity trips in Dien Bien and Lao Cai, 2015

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, Center for Community Health Research and Development (CCRD) has organized a series of charity trips to help poor households in Pa It village, Huoi Mi commune, and Co Dua village, Na Sang commune of Muong Cha district, Dien Bien province along with two other communes of Van Ban district, Lao Cai province, namely Son Thuy and Minh Luong. The villages and communes visited in the charity trips are the most disadvantaged in Muong Cha and Van Ban.

During the trips, CCRD supported rice and warm blankets for 140 poor households, supplied sugar for malnourished children and donated clothes for 140 children under 5 years old. Joining hands with CCRD in the charity trips, the Dien Bien Provincial AIDS Center and Muong Cha District Health Center organized free mobile HIV testing to the local community. Besides a day’s wage of each staff, CCRD owes the success of the charity trips to the kindness and valuable supports of many partners and close friends of ours who had made generous contributions. The trips have left a deep impression to the localities and helped to bring a cozier traditional Tet holidays for villagers in the Northern Mountains.
