On June 08, 2019, the Center for Community Health Research and Development (CCRD) co-operated with Ly Son Steering Committee of Environmental Protection to organize the training on communication skills in waste management for 40 participants who are leaders and representatives of government agencies, mass organizations, residential clusters and other organizations related to environmental protection of the district. The training is one among the series of activities of Ly Son’s environmental protection movement, specifically on waste sorting at source.
This activity focused on providing knowledge and communication techniques of waste management to provincial leaders and heads of residential clusters. These sets of skills should later on help them to effectively convey the messages of environmental protection to local people. Key messages that the project expected participants to master conveying included waste sorting at source, carrying basket to replace single-use plastic bags when shopping, reducing the use of plastic bags and other single-use plastic products, which all contribute to create a healthier enviroment for Ly Son.
The training was well engaged by participants as the the student-centered teaching method was applied. At the end of the training, all of the participants excellently captured the knowledge and communication skills of waste management and committed to fulfill their task of spreading the message of enviromental protection to local people and members of mass organizations to build a green and tourist-attractive Ly Son.
